Richard Walden, J.D.

With over 40 years of experience in global humanitarian development and venture philanthropy, Richard supports Cognitive Leap’s mission of accessibility as applied to mental health assessment and treatment worldwide.

 

Richard is the President, CEO and Co-Founder of Operation USA, an international relief and development nonprofit based in Los Angeles, California. He is the recipient of multiple humanitarian awards, and his Operation USA shared the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize as a key member of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines. Richard’s work has reached over 101 countries and had over $400M in impact. Richard was California Commissioner of Health Facilities (640 hospitals and 1220 nursing homes from 1977-82), and the NYC Health Services Administration for the NYC Mayor John Lindsay. He received his B.A. in Economics from Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, University of Pennsylvania, and got the JD, Law from University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.
